Media’s Student Sean Armstrong Hosts ‘Tha Local Beat’ Podcast

“Tha Local Beat” is a podcast run by Sean Armstrong, a junior Multiplatform Journalism and Psychology double major at Duquesne who also writes for The Duquesne Duke student newspaper.

Sean also regularly participates in the university’s Model UN Club.

“Tha Local Beat” aims to inform its listeners about Pittsburgh’s unique music community and culture. From the start, Sean has used “Tha Local Beat” to bring emerging artists to the public eye. “Tha Local Beat” also functions as a social hub for them to connect with one another and obtain valuable information aimed at honing their craft and enabling them to talk about issues pertaining to the local music scene.

Sean is dedicated to helping Pittsburgh’s local artists have a platform to raise each other up while detailing Pittsburgh music community and culture. He uploads podcasts regularly and can be found on multiple platforms, such as Spotify, Soundcloud and many others.
