Digital Media Arts grad student produces video on Nina Barbuto

By Julie Pawlikowski, second year graduate student in the Media Management program

Jacques Hinkson-Compton, a second year graduate student in the Digital Media Arts program, produced a video on Nina Barbuto, founder of Assemble. Assemble is a 501(c)3 non-profit located in Garfield that is focused on providing Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) in the community. Hinkson-Compton created the video for the Media Lab course taught by Professor Healy.

“I have always believed STEAM subjects should be accesible to all facets of society so meeting Nina was refreshing,” said Hinkson-Compton. “I appreciated her passion for her work and her willingness to give back to her community.” Hinkson-Compton enjoyed the opportunity to observe the students and their growing love of the arts and sciences.
