Media Management graduate student creates video on Duquesne Student Television club

Julie Pawlikowski, a second year graduate student in the Media Management program, recently produced a video in Professor Healy’s Media Lab course about Duquesne Student Television (DSTV). Duquesne Student Television is the official television broadcast of Duquesne University. It is a student-run organization dedicated to creating broadcasts that air on the University’s closed circuit system. Students do not need to be proficient in broadcasting procedures in order to participate. Each meeting contains training sessions, production and planning. DSTV shoots in Caulfield Studio, College Hall 114. The advisor is Mr. James Vota and the student manager is senior Digital Media Arts major Sydney Bauer.

“Duquesne Student Television is a great way for students to learn real-world skills, create connections and networks, and graduate with a full portfolio of work,” said Pawlikowski. “I think having a club like DSTV helps give Duquesne University an edge over other colleges that don’t have a club dedicated to creating broadcasts. There’s a role for every person that joins DSTV be it an anchor, field reporter, editor, audio controller, etc. If you have an interest, they have a place for you.”
