Duquesne Media student creates video on Television News Studio Course

By Jacques Hinkson-Compton, second year graduate student

Second year graduate student Morgan Lambert created this short video to highlight the Duquesne Media Department course, Television News Studio I . It is an advanced broadcast journalism course in which students develop their skills in researching, writing, reporting, editing, and producing broadcast/multimedia news.

The course also helps students develop their interviewing techniques and teaches scripting for both radio and television news. Additionally, on-air performance will be emphasized. Lambert professed her love for the subject was fostered during her undergraduate years. She said ” I really enjoyed Television News studio at my undergraduate school, Slippery Rock University. So I was very eager to take it in graduate school.  I love working the cameras and getting a chance to make my own shows allows me to do unlimited amount of real Studio Positions.”

The course covers both areas beginning with the anchor/reporter positions and integrates the technical side of the operations of a newsroom.
